The Brief

Propel Digital, a high-performing digital marketing agency based in Wangaratta, were vplanning their annual team retreat and looking for something a little different. The goal was to include a professional development experience that was fresh, engaging and meaningful. Something that would spark insight, lift energy, and create real takeaways the team could carry forward into their day-to-day work.

They were after a session that didn’t feel cringey or forced, but one that gave their close-knit crew the chance to learn more about themselves and each other in a fun, high-energy way. Because their work relies so heavily on collaboration, both within their team and with clients — the session also needed to offer practical tools to help strengthen communication and working relationships.

What We Delivered

Ahead of the session, each team member completed a full DiSC personality profile. From there, we facilitated a three-hour deep dive into team dynamics, communication styles and ways to work better together.

The session included:

  • A clear and engaging breakdown of the DiSC model and the four core styles
  • Group reflection on what motivates each style, along with strengths, blind spots and stress points
  • Exploration of the team's dominant DiSC profile areas and how they influence communication
  • Team-based activities to build understanding, insight and shared language — all high on energy, zero on cringe.
  • Real-time reflection on how DiSC could be applied in both internal teamwork and external client relationships.
